In his paintings he often despicts himself in situations that represent interpersonal relationships in current affairs on a philosophical & psychological level. As a draftsman, painter & illustrator M. Häkel exhibits his work throughout Europe in solo exhibitions and participations. Currently Marcel Häkel lives and works in Portugal.
